Private Internet Access is a proprietary VPN application that helps ensure users' browsing activity is kept private.
Also known as "PIA", Private Internet Access is a popular VPN service that provides a free client based on the common OpenVPN protocol. This client allows users to select a particular country to which they'd like to connect. Users can also select "specialty servers", such as those that allow P2P file sharing.
While the PIA application itself is free, users must pay a nominal fee for access to the VPN servers owned by PIA. This fee varies depending on the quantity bought, but users can generally expect to spend approximately $5/month on the service.
The client has been honed over the years and is extremely easy to use. After opening the application, users can select a country based on an interactive map and start browsing from that country anonymously.
